Utah DB Javelin Guidry To Forgo Senior Season, Enter NFL Draft

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah defensive back Javelin Guidry announced that he will forgo his senior season at the University of Utah to enter the 2020 NFL Draft.
Guidry announced his decision via Twitter on Friday, January 3.
“I want to thank the Lord for providing me the opportunity to play this game here in Utah,” wrote Guidry. “The experiences I’ve had at this University have been a blessing, and have helped shape me into the man that I am today. To my teammates: You are my family & brothers for life! The memories we’ve shared as Utah men will stay with me forever. I appreciate the leadership of the coaching staff in developing me for the next of play. After discussion with my family and prayer I will be declaring for the 2020 NFL Draft.”

Guidry joins Jaylon Johnson as Utah defensive players to leave school early to pursue the NFL.
The junior DB played for the Utes from 2017-19.
During his college career, the defensive back recorded 121 total tackles, 83 solo tackles, 3 interceptions, 3 quarterback hits, and 19 pass breakups.
As a junior in 2019, Guidry posted 48 total tackles, 36 solo tackles, 1 interception, 1 quarterback hit, and 6 pass breakups.
Guidry and the Utes finished the 2019 season with an 11-3 record (8-2 Pac-12), a Pac-12 South title, and a 38-10 loss to Texas in the Valero Alamo Bowl.
The 2020 NFL Combine runs from February 23-March 2, 2020 in Indianapolis, Indiana. The 2020 NFL Draft will be held from April 23-25 in Nevada.
