SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Utes offensive tackle Spencer Fano is waiting to prove it on the field this season, but that hasn’t stopped college football writers across the country from singing his praises throughout the summer and early portion of fall camp.
ESPN’s Chris Low included Fano as his top tackle on ESPN’s 2025 preseason college football All-America team.

The NFL scouts love Fano, and there are a lot of reasons why. The 6-6, 302-pound junior has been a starter the past two seasons and has split time at left and right tackle. Fano earned a 93 overall grade last season by Pro Football Focus, which led all FBS tackles. He’s a devastating run blocker and didn’t allow a sack this past season after the opening week.
Fano made 12 starts at right tackle in 2024, earning First Team All-Big 12. The Spanish Fork, Utah, native was also named to the PFF First Team, Associated Press Second Team, and Walter Camp Second Team.
Fano did not allow a sack in the final 11 weeks of the season. He has played 25 career games at Utah with 24 starts.

Fano and offensive line mate Caleb Lomu were each named to the Outland Trophy watchlist and All-Big 12 Preseason Team for a Utah squad looking to rebound from an unusual down season under head coach Kyle Whittingham.
