Queta’s Career-High Performance Not Enough As Utah State Falls To Boise State

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah State center Neemias Queta posted a big-time performance but it wasn’t enough to prevent the Aggies from suffering a loss to the Boise State Broncos.

The Broncos hosted the Aggies at ExtraMile Arena on Wednesday, February 17.
Queta led USU with a career-high 32 points on 12-21 field goals.
Despite the center’s monster game, Utah State fell to Boise State, 79-70.

After a back-and-forth first half, the Aggies took a two-point lead in the locker room at halftime.
In the second half, the Broncos responded.
Boise State limited everyone else except Queta and outscored the Aggies by 11 points over the final 20 minutes of action.

Queta ended the contest with a double-double featuring 10 rebounds. He also had a pair of blocks in the loss.

Utah State finished shooting 46.8 percent overall and only 20.0 percent from three-point range.
Boise State shot 44.4 percent from the field, including 34.8 percent from downtown.
The Broncos were carried by Derrick Alston Jr.’s 26 points.

With the win, Boise State moved ahead of Utah State for first place in the Mountain West Conference.

The loss moved the Aggies to 14-6 on the season and 11-3 in conference play.

Utah State will have the chance to exact revenge in the second game of a back-to-back with Boise State. The Broncos will host the Aggies once again on Friday, February 19 at 8 p.m. (MDT).
