Neemias Queta Named Mountain West Player Of The Year

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah State’s Neemias Queta was named the Mountain West Conference men’s basketball player of the year.
The junior center was also voted the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year by members of the media.
Queta led the Aggies to the Mountain West tournament, which starts this week, with his 15.4 points and 10.4 rebounds per game average.

Queta led the Mountain West in FG percentage (.584), blocks (3.5) and was ranked second in rebound per game (7.37). He led the Aggies past the best teams in the conference including San Diego State, Boise State, Colorado State and Nevada.
“On the year, Queta’s averages of 14.7 points, 9.9 rebounds, 3.0 blocks and 2.8 assists per game make him one of just six players in the NCAA since 1992-93 to average more than 14.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and 2.5 assists per game. Queta is the only player in Mountain West history with that stat line,” reads a statement from the Aggies.
Queta was also named to the All-Mountain West first team along with two other teammates. Justin Bean was named All-Mountain West Second Team and Brock Miller received honorable mention.
