PROVO, Utah – For the second time this season, long-time rivals BYU and Utah basketball will face off as conference foes.
This time, the game will take place at Marriott Center, the Home of the Cougars.

BYU Playing For NCAA Tournament Seeding, Utah Looks For Upset
As the 2024-2025 College Basketball regular season comes to an end, BYU and Utah find themselves in very different positions in the Big 12.
The Cougars have won seven in a row and hold the fourth spot in the conference. The Utes have one win in their last four games and are down at 11th.
BYU’s season has been more or less consistent while Utah has been on a rollercoaster of highs and lows. Ironically, the Utes’ peak was back in mid-January when they snuck out a one-point overtime win over BYU at home.
Since that game, Utah has gone 5-8 and slowly fell down the Big 12 standings. Meanwhile, BYU has gone 11-2 in that same period and looks stronger with every game that passes.
If the Utes want to pull off another rivalry upset, it will be much tougher than the first time around.

Season Series
BYU and Utah have been playing since 1908. They were conference rivals from 1923 to 2011, most notably in the WAC and Mountain West, before they split for the PAC-12 and WCC, respectively. Now, they are back in the same league, and the platform is one of the best hoop leagues in the land.
BYU leads the all-time series 134-131, with Utah winning each of the last two matchups.
