PROVO, Utah- News came down earlier this afternoon that after two decades as the Director of Athletics for the BYU Cougars, Tom Holmoe will be retiring following the 2024-2025 athletic season.

Tom Holmoe to retire after 2024-25 season
His crowning achievement under his direction was landing BYU athletics an invitation to the Big 12 Conference.
During Holmoeâs tenure as BYU athletic director, the university won four national championships and 133 conference regular-season and postseason championships.
Holmoe won athletic director of the year in the 2020-21 season for his work in helping BYU football piece together a season amidst the global COVID-19 pandemic.
Led BYU into the Big 12 Conference
BYU was a member of three conferences under Holmoeâs watch as Athletic Director. The Cougars were in the Mountain West Conference, the West Coast Conference, and the Big 12 Conference.
BYU will hold a made-for-tv press conference event where Holmoe will âaddress the media and Cougar Nationâ on Wednesday at 10 a.m. (MST) on BYUtv.
