Ryder Robinson Earns BYU Baseball’s Second Big 12 Player Of The Week

PROVO, Utah – BYU shortstop Ryder Robinson joined Cooper Vest as the second Cougar to earn Big 12 Player of the Week recognition in 2025. Robinson was named Co-Big 12 POTW alongside Arizona’s Mason White in the Wildcats’ series win over BYU in Provo.
The Cougars took game one 12-5, but dropped the final two games against then-No. 22 Arizona. BYU finished the week 2-2 with a 9-3 home win over Utah Valley.

The switch-hitter began the week with three doubles and an RBI against Utah Valley. Over the weekend, he went 7-for-14 with two doubles, two homers, and four runs driven in. Robinson had three hits in three of four games this week, finishing with a .526 average.
He is hitting .258 with ten doubles, seven homers, and 27 RBI this season.
About Ryder Robinson
A native of American Fork, Utah, Robinson returned to Utah County after starting 43 of 47 games as a freshman at TCU. Robinson hit .215 for the Horned Frogs, with seven doubles, two homers, and 20 RBI.
Before heading to Texas, Robinson was the Utah Gatorade and Prep Baseball Report Player of the Year at American Fork High School. A three-time all-state honoree, Robinson helped lead the Cavemen to a trio of Utah 6A State Championships.

Robinson set the Utah state record for career runs scored and most runs scored in a single season. He batted .466 with three triples, 14 doubles, and eight long balls as a senior. Robinson hit .436 as a prep sophomore and .440 as a junior.
Ryder’s brother, Crew, was an infielder with the Cougars in 2024. Their uncle, Dillon, was an infielder with BYU from 2011 to 2015. Ryder’s father, Darek, was a St. Louis Cardinals draft pick after playing second base at the College of Southern Idaho.
