BYU Starting Tackle Kingsley Suamataia Is Out Against Boise State

BOISE – BYU right tackle Kingsley Suamataia is the latest starter to be sidelined for the Cougars.
Suamataia didn’t make the trip to Boise, Idaho, for the rivalry game against the 6-2 Broncos. KSL Sports did not see Suamataia during pregame warmups here on the blue turf.
Kingsley Suamataia is the latest change to BYU’s starting lineup
The reeling BYU Cougars come into the game with a 4-5 record and on a four-game losing streak. BYU has been one of the hardest-hit teams in the country with changes to their starting lineup this season. Coming into week 10 of the college football season, BYU is tied for third nationally for the highest number of different starters this season with 42.
BYU was only behind New Mexico and Texas A&M coming into the week.
Suamatia being out means that number will increase. The former five-star recruit that transferred to BYU from the University of Oregon, has started all nine games at right tackle for the Cougars.
Suamataia is coming off his highest-graded week by Pro Football Focus, receiving an overall grade of 76.2 in the loss to East Carolina. The 6-foot-6, 325-pound tackle has received an 82+ pass-blocking grade for the past three games.
With Suamataia out for today’s game, BYU could turn to Harris LaChance, Brayden Keim, Campbell Barrington, or Lisala Tai in an effort to replace the star tackle against a Boise defense that is one of the best in the nation.
BYU versus Boise State kicks off today at 5 p.m. (MT) on FS2 and KSL NewsRadio (102.7 FM, 1160 AM).
