PROVO, Utah – The BYU defense forced a turnover on downs with a big goal line stand against the Utah Utes offense during the second quarter of the rivalry game.

BYU hosted Utah for the rivalry game at LaVell Edwards Stadium on Saturday, September 11.
Kyle Whittingham’s squad decided to go for it on 4th & 2 from the BYU eight-yard line late in the first half.
The Cougars stopped Utah’s Micah Bernard after a one-yard gain and forced a turnover on downs.

BYU took possession on their own seven-yard with 3:14 remaing in the half.
The Cougars’ defensive hold halted a five-play, 43-yard drive by the Utes.

BYU owned a 10-7 lead and prevented Utah from tying or taking their first lead of the contest.
