Andy Reid To Speak At BYU Football Coaching Clinic During Spring Ball

PROVO, Utah – Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is making a stop next month at his alma mater. Reid, who won his first Super Bowl championship earlier this month, will be a guest speaker at a BYU Football Coaches Clinic in March.
The event is open to all high school coaches and they can learn from BYU’s coaching staff plus Coach Reid, the NFL’s top coach at the moment.

Every year during spring football practices, BYU hosts this clinic with a prominent guest speaker to speak to high school coaches from around the country. But Andy Reid is the most prominent name they’ve had come to speak.
Reid was a former offensive tackle at BYU from 1978-80 and then one year later he began his coaching career under LaVell Edwards in 1981 as a graduate assistant.
After the Chiefs Super Bowl LIV victory over the San Francisco 49ers earlier this month, Reid gave a shoutout to his alma mater on the set of an ESPN postgame interview with BYU legend Steve Young and the two enjoyed the moment together. When Young was a quarterback at BYU, he credited Reid — an offensive lineman — for teaching the Hall of Fame player everything he knew about the QB position.

Reid is the seventh winningest coach in NFL history with 207 wins in his 21 years as a head coach in the National Football League.
Since the passing of LaVell Edwards in 2016, BYU head coach Kalani Sitake has said in the past that Reid has been a mentor he can turn to for advice. Back in 2017, Reid returned to Provo for the program’s annual Media Day event and shared memories of his old coach and to celebrate his life.
The BYU Football Coaches Clinic is scheduled to take place on Friday, March 13th and the cost is $30 for any high school coach to attend. Go to BYUsportscamps.com for more information.
