Tyler Batty will compete in the 2025 NFL Combine
The first-team All-Big 12 defensive end is one of 73 players who will compete along the defensive line during the annual scouting event, which typically hosts the top NFL draft prospects in a given year.
Batty finished the 2024 season with a career-high 59 tackles and also had 1.5 sacks.
According to Pro Football Focus’ advanced stats, Batty also had 29 quarterback hurries and 11 hits on opposing QBs.
Batty earned high praise during the East-West Shrine Bowl last month in Dallas.

Batty was a four-year starter at defensive end along BYU’s defensive line.
During his five years in the BYU program, Batty finished with 16.5 sacks and had 224 tackles. Last season, he also had two interceptions.
Batty was a captain for the 2023 and 2024 seasons, and he was instrumental in the Cougars turnaround from five wins in 2023 to 11 victories this past season.
The NFL Combine takes place from February 24 to March 3 in Indianapolis. Defensive linemen arrive in Indianapolis on Sunday, February 23.

Batty can potentially be the first defensive end in the Kalani Sitake era at BYU to be selected into the NFL draft. BYU’s last defensive end selected in the NFL draft was Bronson Kaufusi in 2016.
The highest-drafted defensive end out of BYU was Ezekiel “Ziggy” Ansah in the 2013 NFL draft when the Detroit Lions took the former BYU star 5th overall.
