ORLANDO, Fla. – Former Weber State star and current Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard responded to shots taken on Instagram by Los Angeles Clippers duo Patrick Beverley and Paul George.

The Trail Blazers were defeated by the Clippers 122-117 on Saturday after Lillard missed two crucial free throws late in the game. After the game, Beverley waved to Lillard the way that Lillard waved to Paul George and the Oklahoma City Thunder when Lillard drilled the game-winning three-pointer last season in the playoffs to eliminate the Thunder.

Beverley did not play on Saturday.

After the game, Lillard was asked about Beverley’s actions.

“Asking me about Patrick Beverley, I sent him home before at the end of the game,” Lillard said after the game. “Paul George just got sent home by me last year in the playoffs. The reason they are acting like that is because that is what they are expecting from me. Which is a sign of respect and if it shows what I have done at a high clips more times than not so I am not offended by it. If anything, it should tell you how much it hurt them…”

Quotes from the video above was posted on Instagram. Patrick Beverley responded with “Cancun on 3” along with three laughing emojis.

Paul George also commented on the post with “And you getting sent home this year (laughing emoji) respect (closed fist).”

Lillard took a shot at George when he responded to the Clippers all-star.

“Keep switching teams… running from the grind. You boys is chumps,” Lillard wrote.

Lillard referred to sending Beverley home in the Playoffs as well. He made the game-winning three-pointer in his second NBA season to eliminate the Houston Rockets from the postseason. Beverley was a member of the Rockets at that time.
