SALT LAKE CITY – With the NHL Draft less than four weeks away, the biggest overlying question surrounding the league’s newest franchise is very simple. Who will the Utah Mammoth pick at 4? Following combine week, let’s take a look at potential prospects. Next up, center Brady Martin.
Martin is an 18-year-old center from Elmira, Ontario, Canada.
Drafted third overall by the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in the 2023 OHL Draft, Martin has transformed into a top 2025 NHL prospect with his relentless motor, physicality, invasive net presence, lethal shot and a complete game on both ends of the ice.
During his rookie season with the Greyhounds, the young center recorded 10 goals and 18 assists in 52 regular season games.
Stepping into year two, Martin took his game to a whole new level as he erupted offensively with 33 goals and 39 assists (second most points on the team) in 57 contests.
Internationally, Martin helped Team Canada win gold at the 2024 Hlinka Gretzky Cup and the 2025 U18 World Championships with three goals and 12 assists between the two tournaments.
Appearing on most mock drafts as a consensus top 10 selection, Martin is a force to be reckoned with offensively as he punishes defensemen with his physicality, relentless forecheck and an arsenal of lethal shots.
Arguably one of the most competitive and fiercest skaters in the draft, the young center plays so much bigger than his actual size with an unforgiving and physical power-forward style of play.
Despite standing just six feet tall, Martin is an absolute force as he consistently delivers punishing hits all over the ice, battle in the trenches and is a pest around the net.
“I think I’m just a power forward; I’m just always in there, being physical and using my hands,” Martin told Steve Ellis of the DailyFaceoff. “I try and use my hands to my advantage against defenders.”

As demonstrated by his offensive success this past season for the Greyhounds, Martin has noticeable vision with the puck on his stick as he was able to consistently find teammates in dangerous scoring positions.
Additionally, Martin also has as lethal shot that some would consider nearly NHL ready as his catch and release allows him to blast pucks past netminders.
Utah took Brady Martin to dinner this week during the combine & I must say, he looks like the type of player Bill Armstrong would love on his team.

Defensively, Martin boasts a very complete game with an active stick, solid positioning and continued physicality in his own zone.
Two of Martin’s most notable criticisms are his mobility with the puck and overall playmaking skills.
Now, as previously mentioned, Martin has good vision, but it would certainly benefit his game at the next level to be a little more confident and patient with the puck.
Additionally, while there’s no overlying issue with his skating whatsoever, he could definitely improve his agility and mobility when attacking defenders and navigating the offensive zone.
Perhaps no other player saw a bigger jump in terms of their draft stock at the combine this past week than Brady Martin.

More reports that Utah is liking what they see in Brady Martin:
“Martin is the highest-profile prospect who will not attend the NHL Draft, as he’ll stay back home to work on the family farm. Don’t be surprised if he’s taken at No. 4.” https://t.co/2WwLf4ALv5

With a handful of teams taking Martin to dinner, including the Mammoth, Bruins, Flyers and Predators, multiple reports confirmed that Utah really liked what they saw in Martin’s game as he potentially fits what the team is looking for.
Word around the campfire is that Utah *really* likes Brady Martin.
Wouldn’t be shocking to see him go at No. 4.

Following last season, it’s obvious that Utah needs more size, scoring and physicality.
Martin checks all of those boxes, and nobody should be surprised if Utah takes him No. 4 overall.
