SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Hockey Club closed out its three-game homestand with a gut-punch of a loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Monday night.

Utah came into the matchup with three wins in four games as well as a three-game win streak at Delta Center. Each and every win has been a necessity as the club sits a few spots down from the Western Conference Wild Card.

The Hockey Club struck first with Detroit in town. Clayton Keller and Dylan Guenther connected in the opening minutes to make it 1-0. The Red Wings went on to score one unanswered in the second period and then three more in the third.

Utah will now embark on a three-game road trip with stops in Tampa Bay, Florida, and Chicago.
