SALT LAKE CITY – Early in the first period against the Red Wings, Clayton Keller set up Dylan Guenther for the first Utah Hockey Club score of the game.
The play gave Guenther his 26th goal, and 50th point, of the season.
This is one of the most impressive goals the club has scored all season.
Watch Keller’s head before he delivers the puck. He takes a quick look for Guenther, sees he’s there, delivers a perfect pass, and Guenther buries it.

After some battling in the right corner, Keller retreated and saw Guenther posted up across the ice in the left faceoff circle.
He delivered a perfect pass and Utah’s leading goal scorer did the rest.
Looking further than this season, the goal also moved Guenther up to 100 total points in his NHL career.
With his power-play goal tonight, Dylan Guenther has now registered 100 points (50g, 50a) in his NHL career.

Unfortunately, the lead didnt stick for long.
Just over 60 seconds after the highlight, a bad turnover led to a 2-on-1 for Detroit and Elmer Soderblom took advantage off a feed from Vladimir Tarasenko.
The Utah Hockey Club ends its three-game homestand against the Detroit Red Wings tonight.
Utah has one each of its last two at home as well as three of its last four. With hopes still alive for a postseason appearance, wins or draws are basically a necessity in the last month of the season.
Detroit finds itself in a nearly identical situation. Utah is six points from the second Wild Card spot and the Red Wings are five points. However, the recent stretch of games looks a lot different for the Motor City. They have lost two in a row and have just two wins in their last 11 games.
This is the second and final matchup between Utah and Detroit this year. They last faced off on March 6 when the Hockey Club picked up a gritty 4-2 victory.

The Hockey Club has a 15-13-7 record at home while the Red Wings are 14-16-3 on the road.
