Woodbury Buries Game-Winning Three In Final Seconds Of OT To Give UVU Win Over Seattle

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah Valley guard Trey Woodbury connected on a three-pointer in the final seconds of overtime to give Utah Valley a one-point win over Seattle.

The Redhawks hosted the Wolverines on Friday, January 15.

With five seconds to go in the extra period, UVU guard Blaze Nield assisted Woodbury, who buried a triple to give the Wolverines a one-point lead.

Seattle’s Aaron Nettles missed a three-pointer at the buzzer and the Wolverines won the contest, 93-92.

Utah Valley outscored Seattle in overtime, 13-12.

Woodbury finished the game with 20 points on 8-12 field goals.

Fardaws Aimaq led Utah Valley with a game-high 29 points and 14 rebounds.

UVU had four players score in double figures.

The Wolverines finished the contest shooting 52.6 percent overall and 28.6 percent from downtown.

Seattle was limited to 34.2 percent shooting, including 37.5 percent from beyond the arc.

The Redhawks were led by Darrion Trammell’s 26 points.

With the win, the Wolverines improved to 5-5 on the season and 3-0 in Western Athletic Conference games.

Utah Valley’s next game is the second of a back-to-back with Seattle, The Redhawks will host the Wolverines again on Saturday, January 16 at 7 p.m. (MDT). The game will broadcast on ESPN+.
