Southern Utah Unable To Climb Back From First Half Deficit Against Montana State

BOZEMAN, Mont. – Southern Utah was unable to mount a second-half comeback after trailing the Montana State Bobcats at halftime.
The Thunderbirds played against the Bobcats at Worthington Arena in Bozeman on Thursday, March 5.
SUU fell behind by eight points during the first 20 minutes of game time and trailed Montana State 30-22 at the break. The Thunderbirds came out of the locker room and put together a much better second half but were unable to make up any ground on the scoreboard and fell 73-65.

The T-Birds finished the game shooting 41.7 percent overall and 34.6 percent from beyond the arc.
Southern Utah was led by Dwayne Morgan and Dre Marin combined 30 points. Morgan and Marin each scored 15 points apiece.
Thunderbirds guard Cameron Oluyitan added 14 points in the loss.

Montana State shot 48.9 percent from the field including 53.3 percent from downtown.
The Bobcats were led in scoring by Jubrile Belo’s 25 points and Harald Frey’s 22 points.
With the loss, Southern Utah fell to an overall record of 15-15 including 8-11 in Big Sky Conference play.

The Thunderbirds wrap up their regular season campaign against the Montana Grizzlies on Saturday, March 7 at 7 p.m. (MDT).
