The Big 12 Conference announced on Wednesday that teams will be required to release player availability reports for all conference football and basketball games starting next season.
The injury reports will be released in “the days leading up to each game, as well as a final report 90 minutes prior to kickoff or tip-off.”

Football programs will be required to update their reports daily, starting three days before each contest. Basketball programs will update their reports the night before each contest.
For football, acceptable designations are available, probable, questionable, doubtful, and out. For basketball, the designations are available, game-time decision, and out. All reports will be found at Big12Sports.com.
The move aims to provide transparency to both fans and opposing teams heading into each game.

The Big 12 now joins the SEC, Big Ten, and ACC, other power conferences that have similar rules in place. The SEC and Big Ten had already had these rules in place, while the Big 12 and ACC will be releasing reports for the first time this upcoming season.
An important note: the injury reports are only required for conference games. Big 12 football conference play begins in mid-September. Big 12 basketball conference play begins in late December.
