Texas Rangers Select SLCC Bruins Pitcher Jaxon Grossman In MLB Draft

SALT LAKE CITY – Fresh off of helping the Salt Lake Bruins to the 2025 JUCO World Series title, Jaxon Grossman is a late-round draft pick of the Texas Rangers.
Texas picked Grossman in the 16th round (475th overall) of the 2025 MLB draft.

Grossman built a solid sophomore season with the championship-winning Bruins. He appeared in 14 games (nine starts), going 6-0 and striking out 55 batters.
Grossman previously committed to the University of Oklahoma baseball program. He could opt not to sign with the Rangers.
About Jaxon Grossman
Grossman is a 6’4, 220-pound flame-thrower from Maui, Hawai’i. He began his college career across the Salt Lake valley at the University of Utah in 2023. He was a two-way player at King Kekaulike High School as a shortstop and pitcher. Grossman was considered the No. 12 prospect in Hawai’i and the fifth-best SS in 2022.

In his only season with SLCC, Grossman tallied a 5.15 ERA in 50.2 innings. He walked 18 batters, and opponents hit .228 against him.
Grossman made two starts in the JUCO World Series, putting together 11 terrific innings.
He tossed five innings of two-hit baseball in a 16-2 Bruins tournament-opening win over Florida Southwestern State.
Grossman followed that performance up with six gutsy innings in a 12-2 semifinal win over Lakeland Community College. He finished the tournament with 12 punchouts against two walks, allowing three earned runs and eight hits combined.
